Madrid 2026
The EOHA Annual Scientific Meeting is a European forum for sharing knowledge, presenting innovative research, and strengthening cooperation across human, animal, and environmental health sectors. The 2026 edition, hosted by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid, marks a milestone for One Health in Europe and aims to become a recognised reference for dialogue and integration.

By Prof. Dr. Carlos Das Neves (Openning and Panellist) Chief Scientist at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). His work focuses on One Health–oriented approaches to animal health, food safety and emerging threats, bridging science, policy and international coordination.

By Hein Imberechts (Round Table Chair) Hein Imberechts is Project Manager at Sciensano, Vice-President of the European One Health Association, and member of the management team of the European Partnership on Animal Health & Welfare.
The EOHA‑ASM 2026 will feature a three‑day programme combining plenary lectures, oral and poster sessions, and interactive round tables focused on the latest advances and challenges in One Health. Detailed schedules and confirmed speakers will be published in early 2026.

The meeting will feature keynote lectures by internationally recognised experts at the
interface of human, animal, and environmental health
Prof. Bruno Gonzalez-Zorn (Keynote Speaker)
Professor and Head of the Antimicrobial Resistance Unit (ARU) at the Complutense University in Madrid, a multidisciplinary laboratory he founded in 2005 and has brought One Health to the forefront of research on antimicrobial resistance.
Isabella Monne (Keynote Speaker)
Veterinarian and Head of the Viral Genomics and Transcriptomics Laboratory at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe), which hosts the EU/FAO/WOAH Reference Laboratory for Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease. Her work focuses on One Health–oriented genomic surveillance to understand viral evolution, transmission, and zoonotic risk, particularly for avian influenza.
Prof. Dr. Carlos Das Neves (Openning and Panellist)

Pablo Hervás (Round Table Chair)
Pablo Hervás is the Vice-president of the Foundation Vet+i - Spanish Technology Platform for Animal Health, which objective is to promote Research, Development and Innovation in the Animal Health Sector.
Maite Martín (Round Table Panellist)
Maite Martín is a veterinarian and former Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and one of the driving forces behind the Spanish One Health Platform, which promotes the implementation of the One Health approach at policy level.
Jordi Figuerola (Round Table Panellist)
Jordi Figuerola is a Research Professor at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) based at the Estación Biológica de Doñana, whose research focuses on the environmental drivers of zoonotic diseases, with particular emphasis on mosquito-borne viruses such as West Nile virus
